Mission Statement:
Canadian Registered Charity Business Number 82942 3920 RR0001
TPDRC is dedicated to the welfare of dogs
TPDRC's objective is to rehabilitate and re-home abused, stray or surrendered dogs of any breed up to 20lbs
TPDRC wishes to play a role in educating and raising public awareness regarding responsible pet ownership hopefully resulting in better treatment of all dogs
Who We are:
Tiny Paws Dog Rescue Canada (TPDRC) is a charitable organization, comprised of volunteers who are working to fill a much needed niche in the rescue community, that of saving and re-homing small (under 20 lbs.), mixed breed dogs and purebred dogs.
What We Do:
TPDRC works with shelters, pounds, other rescues, and private individuals to save dogs who might otherwise be euthanized and to place those dogs into our private foster homes, give standard veterinary care and other needed medical treatment, work on training issues and find them carefully screened forever homes. We also stress the importance of educating the public about the necessity to spay/neuter, the deplorable conditions of puppy mill and pet store dogs and the need to adequately care for and train the family pet.
Our Fundraising Endeavours:
Our online boutique is a wonderful place to find gifts for dog owners plus other speciality items. We endeavour to participate in such dog related events as “The All About Pets Show”, “Woofstock”, “Royal Winter Fair,” as well as holding our own fundraising events like Christmas in July.
Where:
TPDRC does not have a facility. All dogs are in private homes and may be viewed during the scheduled home visit.
Why We Do What We Do:
Far too many perfectly healthy, wonderful dogs are euthanized everyday because their owners do not realize that dog rescues exist. There are many reasons that a person might have to give up a dog, lack of time or money, a change in living situation, health issues; it is not the intention of TPDRC to judge anyone, we only want to do what is best for the dog. In addition, there are many dogs that end up in shelters because they have never been adequately trained, suffer from separation anxiety or from treatable health issues.
Wishlist:
There are many things a rescue needs, funds, of course, but also donations of new or very gently used: crates, bedding, x-pens, bowls, food, dog coats, collars, leads, peepads, doggie diapers, and urine bands.
TPDRC is also in need of volunteers to foster, work at events, raise funds, and to share a journey of love with others involved in the very rewarding work of dog rescue.
